Our vision is redefining futures
Decarceration One Life at a time
DECARCERATION
DECARCERATION
WHAT is DECARCERATION?
Decarceration focuses on reversing negative behaviors and habits that lead up to and were built during incarceration. By providing transitional employment, housing, economic development, educational resources, and social development support, current and former inmates can recover from prison trauma. They can rebuild their sense of identity, self-worth, autonomy, and empowerment in a compassionate but challenging environment based on the internal dynamics of personal choice, change, growth, and accountability.
Our Goal
The SisterHearts mission is to provide transitional employment and Decarceration training to formerly incarcerated individuals as we expand around the country.
SisterHearts will act as a model for those returning back into society after incarceration and those institutionalized in communities.
Our goal is to create a program that partners with prison facilities across the country to help Decarcerate and empower people back into their communities.
